Let’s Get Learning!

It has become very clear to me over that last few years that you can not simply learn it all by taking classes or listening to what society tells us. More often than not that information has been altered to benefit a certain group or corporation. I have learned that the best way to combat this is to educate myself. Below are a number of amazing resources that I have found to really take my education to the next level.

Plant-Based Eating

Plant Strong By Rip Esselstyn

This was the first book I read on plant-based eating. It showed up in a grocery story at the exact time that I was watching YouTube videos on veganism and healthier living. I honestly can say this book is what pushed my decision to completely stop eating meat and go vegan. Rip does an amazing job of explaining the research that shows why eating a plant-based diet is the best option. His explanations are easy to understand and also extremely detailed. He explains all the different reasons that someone may use to make the decision to eat this way.

Also the best part of this book, there are recipes! Who can say no to that?

Eat with Intention By Cassandra Bodzak

I got an amazing chance to meet Cassandra at a Vegenation Pop Up last year. I had never heard of her or her book but I saw eating with intention and healthy eating and had to jump at the chance. Cassandra is such an amazing human. I have never felt such a genuine love and positivity come from one person before. Not only do you feel this when you meet her, but it comes out in her book. This book helps to teach you to become one with your body. It explains the importance of listening to your body and understanding what it needs. She gives examples, meditation, affirmations, and best of all RECIPES!

Main Street Vegan By Victoria Moran

The book was the first book I read with the intention of truly understanding the animal suffering aspect of veganism. I will say that even after this book I do lean towards a health vegan rather than ethical. That is not because I do not believe that what we do is not absolutely horrific, but more because my brain understands and holds more stock in the scientific side. Even with that said I am happy that I know this information. I believe it is important to understand things from every view-point. And there is a lot of information in this book that I think everyone should know.

This page will be constantly updated with new books and documentaries that I have found to take my education to the next level. Be sure to come back and see what else you can use to boost your knowledge.
